Dubai Science Park Showcasing Innovation in Arab Health 2021

Dubai-United Arab Emirates: 30 June 2021:  Dubai Science Park will showcase why the emirate is on track to become a global hub for companies and life sciences talent at Arab Health 2021.

The business district, home to more than 400 companies and 4,000 professionals working for multinational corporations and SMEs in the sciences, energy and environmental sectors, has confirmed its participation in the region’s largest exhibition for the healthcare industry. It will be the first time that Dubai Science Park has a major presence at the four-day event.

A range of science-backed companies and startups that leverage new technologies in healthcare and medicine will be showcased to demonstrate Dubai’s growth as a globally competitive and attractive destination. Its presence will also underscore how the city is leading the UAE’s transformation into a next-generation pharmaceutical producer in line with the Operation 300bn industrial strategy, supporting growth in medical tourism and digital transformation in the healthcare space.

Talks and networking opportunities will be held from 22-24 June at Dubai Science Park’s booth. It will kick off with Amazon Web Services, US health tech company IQVIA and Dubai Health Authority joining an Advance Health panel, organised in collaboration with Synapse Medical and Connect Communications, between 15:00-16:00. Where to Now? Healthcare Data in the UAE and Beyond will explore data privacy in an age of accelerated digital transformation.

International law firm Al Tamimi & Company and Birmingham University will join the second panel, The Importance of Patents in Healthcare Innovation, on 23 June from 15:00 to discuss the importance of patents in innovation, the challenges and opportunities in R&D, and the appropriate approach to R&D in securing patentable medical innovation in the region.

Rounding up the busy schedule of in-person events, Dubai Science Park will explore how the business district – home to global pharmaceutical giants such as Pfizer and Bayer – supports entrepreneurs and startups.

The Startup Healthcare Ecosystem in the UAE panel will hear from Saeed Alnofeli, Director of startup incubator in5, Dr Osama AbouElkhir, CEO of TachyHealth Inc, and Reza Kazemipour, Managing Director of venture capital firm Black Lab Dubai. It will take place on 24 June and runs from 13:00-14:30.

Dubai Science Park’s booth can be found at Stand A55, Hall 6 at the Dubai World Trade Centre during Arab Health 2021, which runs from 21-24 June.
